Join us on Wednesday, 23 September at 6pm for a conversation between Karen Mirza and Keg de Souza.
Karen Mirza is in Sydney as a guest of the 20th Biennale. Based between London and Istanbul, since 2009, she and Brad Butler have been accumulating a body of work entitled The Museum of Non Participation. Their works span filmmaking, installation, drawing, publishing and curating, questioning and challenging current conditions of political involvement and resistance.
Keg de Souza is an Australian artist whose interdisciplinary approach includes inflatable structures, video, printmaking and installations. She has used workshops, picnics and other informal and didactic platforms to bring attention to issues such as gentrification and displacement.
This talk is hosted, with thanks, by The Bearded Tit: a bar, creative clubhouse and a catalyst for conversation and experimentation.
Address: 183 Regent St, Redfern, NSW 2016
